- Visiting the DMZ in Korea :Conclusion
Visiting the DMZ in Korea has always been a point of fascination for me. With its shroud of mystery, North Korea has always captivated my imagination. I embarked on this journey with the utmost respect for the unique culture and isolation of the region.
Joining my Uncle Dan and Auntie Leng made the experience even more special. We flew into South Korea with Korean Airlines, a reputable airline partnered with Delta. To explore the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), we booked a tour with VVIP Travels. The tour cost was approximately USD 139 per person.
In addition to my various trips to Korea, I also made a pilgrimage to Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, an experience that proved to be an unforgettable spiritual journey. I was fortunate enough to meet the co-founder of this church, known for having the largest congregation in the world.

The History of North & South
The division between North and South Korea stretches back over 70 years, a direct result of the Korean War. This conflict was fundamentally a clash between communist and democratic ideologies.

Today, the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), a 160-mile-long buffer zone, serves as the physical boundary separating the two nations. This neutral ground is where occasional meetings and negotiations take place.

Third Tunnel of Aggression
Descending into this tunnel offers a chilling glimpse into North Korea’s clandestine efforts to infiltrate the South. Crawling through this underground passage is like traveling back in time, experiencing a tangible piece of the ongoing tension.
No cameras were allowed in the tunnel but it was quite a workout walking through the tunnel where the North was trying to break into the South.

From this vantage point, we had the extraordinary opportunity to peer across the border into North Korea. The view, despite the underlying tensions, was surprisingly serene, offering a stark contrast to the heavily fortified reality of the DMZ.
