It’s pretty cool to see how the random occurrences in our lives end up becoming part of our destiny. The events here, decades later, led me to be part of a spiritual pilgrimage that impacted my heart deeply. Pilgrimage to Yoido Full Gospel Church and the experiences I had there are moments I’ll never forget. Random occurrences + gratitude = destiny.

Meeting the Co-Founder

I had the honor of meeting the co-founder of the largest church (by attendance) in the world, located in Seoul, Korea. At the time, I was only 17, and I heard stories of how she built the fastest-growing church from the ground up through much prayer. Fifteen years later, I met her again when she was the guest speaker at my previous job in Pensacola, Florida.

Lodging at Prayer Mountain

The accommodations at Prayer Mountain are simple and clean, with rooms available for a modest price of around USD 25 per night. Although we initially booked a stay, we decided to return to the city by Uber, opting not to spend the night. You can book rooms at Prayer Mountain through their website

The Prayer Grottos

The prayer grottos at Prayer Mountain without a doubt, the highlight of our trip. These simple rooms provide a space for people to pray fervently and seek divine intervention. With a charging station to play music or Bible scriptures, there is something deeply powerful about broken humanity meeting spirituality through sincere prayer. Many have experienced miracles in this sacred space.

Conclusion of Pilgrimage to Yoido Full Gospel Church

Destination vs Journey

This pilgrimage to Yoido Full Gospel Church brought to mind a story I once heard about a father who built a playhouse with his children. The time that they took to build it was filled with vibrant memories of the kids helping their dad.

When the playhouse was finally completed, the purpose of it was for the kids to play in it daily, but the kids rarely used the playhouse. Puzzled, the father wondered why the kids had so much fun building it but rarely visited it afterward.

The father then realized that it wasn’t the destination of the house that mattered to the kids, it was the journey of building the house that mattered.

We get so caught up in our goals and final destination that we forget to enjoy the journey. Life is not a sprint but a marathon race. Enjoy the journey because that is what really counts, the process and journey to greatness.

Today, let us remind ourselves to breathe in every moment of our journey. Make memories, allow mistakes, and learn from them; be content and live! Whether traveling for spiritual renewal or participating in humanitarian trips, the journey itself is what enriches our lives. The pilgrimage to South Korea did our hearts good. We slowed down & enjoyed the journey.
